As a Yankee fan, I'm very glad that cosmos has been restored and the Bosox were soundly disposed off by the White Sox (the Empire is safe) ... defending World Champs ... great defense that one:D

I also agree with your prediction that it will the Astro's and Sox who have 4 former Yankee pitchers in their starting rotation (Rocket, Pettite, Contreras and El Duque). How evil is that? We spread the wealth to other teams.:D

Congrats to the White Sox for getting rid of those pesky Angels. The better team won! Hopefully, they can put an end to the Wild Card streak of winning the WS.

Since the Yanks aren't in, BoSox are gone, Angels are gone, I'll be cheering for the White Sox! 1917 is a verryyy long time.

Well, as a baseball fan, good luck to both the White Sox and the Astros (Cards had their chance last year). If those two teams make it to the WS, that's definitely history in the making.

As a Red Sox fan, hey, we won last year (can the Yankees say they won it all in the 21st century? Nope!) and I'm still happy about that. Besides, half the fun is watching what NY and Boston do during the off season, and this one could be a wild one.

Careful, Yankees, you're starting to turn in the American League version of the Braves (sorry Atlanta fans) :D

Talk about a troll! You win ONE WS and you think the whole century is done ... spoken like a true Red Sox fan ... out of touch with reality.

By the way, how many WS titles did the Red Sox successfully defend? ZERO. Don't worry about the Braves fans ... the only team that acts like them in the AL is the RED SOX!:D

Bitter?..... Party of one..... your table is ready.

So the Yanks and Boston are out of it this year. I think it's about time some team from Chicago won it all. Besides at least they had to go through Boston to get there and they're still the sox so the sox can still win it all and A-Rod can sit home and cry. God I can't stand that guy. As a Boston fan you hate the Yankees. That's just how it is. But you have to give them a lot of respect. They are an incredible ball club but god that A-Rod is such a poor excuse for a Yankee.

What do have against A-Rod? Ohhhh that's right ... he turned down the Red Sox, got Omar upset cuz A-Rod wouldn't consider anything but SS, and ended up moving to third base for the Yanks. Didn't want to do that for the Sox, did he?

Bitter ... have a Samuel Adams at YOUR table.

GO SOX! The white sox that is.

The Red Sox didn't offer him $25 million/year for it!

:hm: Cashman or Epstein ... who outmanuvered whom? Besides, so what? It's simple economics. Here's a telling stat (Personal Income in Billions as of 2003):

NY $926
Boston 315
Los Angeles 590

Now compare that to the payroll of their teams ($MM):

NY (NYY & NYM) $309
Bosox 124
Los Angeles
(Angels,Dodgers) 161

NY can afford it while Boston (the second largest payroll after the Yanks) spends more. In fact, NY should have third team if you buy into a recent business week article:

Ah... fugeddaboutit. Neither team made it.

Leave it to the banker to break it down for us. :)

I just wanted to congratulate the White Sox. I'm no baseball fan but the first baseball cap I ever got was a White Sox's cap. So more power to them.

Q: What is the definition of anguish to a true Cubs fan?

A: The White Sox and Cardinals in the World Series. :)

If the Cards pull this one off, I may have to start hanging out with my Cubs fan friends, just for the entertainment value....

May need some popcorn for this one... :D
