I have a couple steel 72's I want to get hydroed/tumbled. all the dive shops around here want $40. I keep hearing that people only pay 15 or 20 directly at the hydro place? I'd also like to find somewhere that will actually take the time to see if the tank qualifies for the + or not.

thanks

nate

search for "hydrostatic testing ca" in google. All approved facilities are listed.

$40 bucks is not unreasonable. there is a lot of work that goes into a hydro and some expensive equipment to own and maintain. and the guy doing it will want to make some money so he can pay his bills and eat. And, why waste $20 worth of your time and resources to go find someone that will do it for $35.

I recomend Pacific Wilderness in San Pedro. their hydro facility is on site and they get them done fast.

Likewise, I recommend Pacific Wilderness. I get my tanks hydro'ed there as well.

I just had my steel 100 done thru sports challet. It was $26 but took 2 weeks. They quoted two weeks, so they did what they promised. The tank came back full, and with a curent VIP.

Pacific Wilderness has a 4 day turn-around

Do you get your tanks back from SC with all old stickers removed or are they still on the tank?

do you guys know what pacific wilderness charges? I don't mind paying the money if they will indeed check for the "+", but if they aren't going to bother I might as well take it somewhere cheap

They took the old one off, and put the new VIP sticker on it. They also gave me the old o-ring they replaced.
