Just recently started diving and haven't purchased my own equipment yet. I spoke with a few people here via PM's and they said that since I am interested in eventually doing technical diving in the years to come I should go with a BP/wing instead of starting with a jacket BC and upgrading later.

Just wondering if anyone in the south eastern NY state area uses BP/wing that I could try? My LDS only carries jacket BC's.

dmbelina,

Ever make it down to NYC? Tons of us use BP/Wings here. Most of the Tech diving in this area is off of boats out of Conn., Long Island, and NJ.

If you want to get into tech diving, yea, get the BP/Wing now, you will later anyhow.

PM me if you ever are going to be down here.

I'm also new diver and decided to go with BP/Wing. Just ordered my Zeagle 911 tow days ago. I felt very comfortable with BP under water...

Can't you try with your LDS? I found one LDS here and they are very helpful. They gave me two sets of BC, regulators, computers and let me try for one week :-)

i am not too sure, but, technically, is the 911 a BP/wings BC?
i thought it was a soft-pack system like the transpac.
