I haven't been there, Maat1976. But I can commiserate with you in your search for reasonable priced accommodations in the Maldives. I've been searching and am quite surprised at what the market will bear. I'm leaning towards south Ari though, as it seems like the small amount of info I can find suggests the coral is in better shape there-- plus there's those big domino looking things in south A.

Try Maafushi island which offers a lot 2 or 3 -star hotels/ guesthouses.
