I was there for a week early 2017. Overall it was a good experience. The dive sites were good, it's a short ride to the Blue Hole. DMs and boatman good. You spend your surface intervals on the boat, unlike Turneffe Island Resort, where the dive sites are close so you return to the resort after each dive. Dining room was always packed, sometimes couldn't find a table to sit down. Don't get a room close to the bar unless you like the music they blast out at night. No fishing option.
It's a good place, or was at least in 2017. If you are attracted to Turneffe Atoll, Turneffe Island Resort is steps above Blackbird in terms of service, luxury, resources and attractiveness. More expensive also, I guess. In fact, when I went to Blackbird, I had already been to TIR and wish I had returned there instead which I subsequently did.
