As for the Titanium vs. stainless swivel, I have a lack of knowledge for the benefits for both of those to be honest...but from what I know, I cant see a big difference except weight. Which could be a big difference if you have jaw fatigue or the SS swivel is heavy...other than that, I really dont see any differences, but look forward to hearing about them if there is :cool2:

Forget the swivel altogether and go with Miflex hoses. Less weight, less jaw fatigue, less failure points.

I agree, but that reg he is talking about already comes with a swivel....and to add miflex you would need an adapter:wink:

Not if you remove the un-needed swivel...

:D

I dont think so....if its similar to the Oceanic Delta 4, which they use the same swivel as Oceanic buys/bought it from them, then there is a bigger inlet into the reg, than standard hose ...needing an adapter

Other than being more affordable compared to their Ti regs, the stainless steel reg should handle Nitrox better. From what I remember, titanium turns corrosive with higher oxygen content, while ss is unaffected.
With lots of recreational divers getting Nitrox certified, making regs in ss seems like a good idea to me, though they'll need to make 2nd stages with the same material to complete the package. The current product has a ti 2nd.

Comparing them to conventional brass made stuff, service intervals are 2yrs/300dives like the Ti regs, so SS regs probably are more durable.

.....a word of caution about all Atomic reg models (except for the M1)....I found my B1 a bit overly sensitive to free-flow when heading into currents, so I've upgraded the B1 2nd-stage to the front-cover/cave ring of the M1...the M1 purge cover has the 'holes' on the side of the 2nd-stage cover, instead of having them on the front as do all the other Atomic models...so water impacting the 2nd-stage no longer causes any free-flow. Another option some suggested was to detune the B1 2nd-stage, but making it breathe like crap kinda defeats the purpose of using a high-end/spendy reg in the first place. (back in the day, before my upgrade, I was always fiddling with the 2nd-stage adjustment knob to achieve optimum balance, which was annoying)

Actually, that's standard on all Atomic regs regardless of material.

Am I correct that if you take off the swivel, the inlet is bigger than a normal hose? Again, I dont sell atomic as of now, so I can only speculate and pull from memory.....

Thanks for the correction.
I should have had a look at Atomic's web page before posting.
