My mistake above, the Mexico land borders are open to some and indeed Puerto Penasco is open if you have pre-booked at trip on one of the liveaboards Rocio Del Mar and Quino El Guardian as they will have a list with your name on it at the border crossing. However the National Parks such as Guadalupe are not yet open although there is a lot of frantic lobbying amongst the boat operators and the ruling powers to get these open. However flights to Cabo are no problem and there are programs to the Bahia de Los Angeles in the Sea of Cortez with land transfer from San Diego, and even a long weekend 4 night trip from Cabo for Sep 30 and a 7 night trip to Magdalena Bay for Oct 4.
Galapagos is open, as is French Polynesia and those would likely yield some of the best big animal action close to the US. Regulations and restrictions are changing by the day but don't hesitate to drop us a line if you have any questions or want some advice. At your service. Dom@diveadvice.com
