Is there any inland diving (that has something marginally interesting to see) where the water temperature is still warm (low 70s is OK) in the winter in the western US (California / Nevada /Arizona etc...)??

During the winter at the Channel Islands I've seen water temps in the 60s on the east side of Santa Cruz, but you could get out there and just as easily find it at 52 degrees. As for inland, I have no idea. Basically, the hope of finding warm water to dive in in California seems unrealistic.

My hot tub... because the heater has been turned off to conserve energy. Summer temperatures out here on Catalina usually hit about 72-73 F, although I've seen them as high as 81-83 F in El Nino years. You might try diving the cooling effluent around a nuclear power plant and see if the temp is that high (most likely not).

Darn it Dr Bill you beat me to it. That's something along the lines of what I was going to say! :)
