Sal n' Dive,
You should look at the picture in the profile of the person who started this thread.

Sail 'n Dive:
nice thread, but its too bad that all this important info had to be introduced with a sexist remark about blondes. This blonde newbie is working hard at developing her diving skills, including dry suit diving in really cold water (like 38 to 45 degrees, and thats farenheit) but the hair has nothing to do with the brain, you guys, sail 'n dive
MissyP who made the "sexist remark about blondes" happens to be a blonde female. The crack was made in the SoCal forum where many of us know each other and I don't believe that in that context it was intended to insult blondes in any region of the world.

That said, I'm glad to hear that you are working hard on your dive skills and hope you get a chance someday to come out to SoCal and dive with us! I understand that the diving in New York may be a bit more challenging than what we have here, so it should be a nice treat to dive in SoCal.

Dive safe!

Christian

Actually... if you would've looked at my profile, I'm as blonde as they come.
:)
Very sensitive people on here- sorry for the "offensive" post title. If you knew me, you would realize I'm harmless & wouldn't intentionally offend anyone. :lookaroun

how is "And they say blondes are dumb?" sexist, anyway? I don't see it mentioning male or female blondes...

...and how could anyone be offended by someone sporting a smiling pink bunny for an avatar along with a smilie wearing bows in the sig line. That's like claiming you were beat up by the Easter Bunny! ;)

Eggzactly!

As my brother says: he preferred it when he was a blond, at least he had hair then. And as for the newbies, that is what being new is all about. You really don't know what you don't know until some "expert" lets you know (hopefull with tact and compassion, cause it hurts to feel like a fool)! We have all been there at some time.

Ooh, those mischievous Bunny Wabbits, always causing trouble :)

Why do threads loose their purpose?....I can't see the relevance with Diving and where this thread is going....

Here is blonde things, remarks about hair colors, how people say things can go to:

Diving people, diving...ONLY diving related comments should be the only focus here. I love so many things about this site and equaly dislike the irrelevant stuff. But majority rules and I respect that, so people feel like me eventualy fall out of this site....

Happy & Safe Diving all divers.....
