Empty V:
8-10ft swells? That sounds really high for a dive boat to go into. You are a brave man my friend.

Billy

I could be off but they were fairly good sized and a couple of other people estimated nearly the same. All I can is that a fair number of people were a bit green in the gills. The captain on the boat did a great job. Funny thing is that I thought the ride back would be even worse but it wasn't.

By the way, have the sea lions been around? I've gotten mixed info about whether or not it's possible to dive with sea lions during their breeding season June-July. I'm going on July 26 and am wondering whether there's any chance of running into some.

Looking forward to the toasty warm water of Southern CAThursday through Saturday, we will probably be diving Anacapa on Saturday :-)

Enjoy! Be sure to report in about those sea lions.

I don't know how the seas are, but I'm sure you could check the swell models and get an idea.

I'm jealous of anyone headed out there this weekend... I suspect it'll be a really nice weekend!

Sea lions are always out there. Sometimes they interact with you more than others, but I can't remember not seeing them around at all.

Ended up not diving Anacapa so don't want to hijack the thread by giving a dive report on Santa Barbara Island and Santa Cruz island. The conditions were supposedly better on Santa Cruz so dove there instead of Anacapa. The water temp didn't get below 57 degrees which was nice. I will also say the crew on the Peace is awesome!
