OK, all you stacked macro lens users...so how do you keep from losing those babies? I've got an Inon WA lens appearing tomorrow with a lens dock that'll fit on my strobe arm...but where in the heck will I put my stacked macro lenses so I don't lose them if I've decided to use those on the same dive???

Do you have some kind of lanyard on them? I have visions of watching them spiralling off into the blue as I mutter all kinds of curse words through my reg at my fumblefingers...that's a VERY bad mental image.

For the record, I'm using a 5050 in a PT-015, an Inon WA, a DS-125 on an Ike tray and arm system and the new macros are Vivitar +4 and +2 diopter macro lenses... (there are actually several more, but I thought I'd start with stacking just 2)

This little docking device is pretty cool!

Ahh - actually I'm already getting one of those (from another diver) for my WA lens! :) So it'll hold my macro lenses as well? Good to know! Unfortunately, apparently the manufacturer of these was affected by Katrina, so you can't order these for the time being, according to the website. I was lucky enough to score one from the guy I bought my WA lens from....

So at least I'll be good to go if I'm either working on WA *or* macro lenses. I guess I'll be a little confounded if I'm not using either...one can go in the dock, but then I'm stuck with what to do with the other...It would just be hanging there off the dock..(ack!!!). Maybe I should try to get another one somewhere...

I bought the dock thing. It's still in plastic. I stick my lenses in the front of my wetsuit - very high tech. Of course, this only works with a front zip. And only my macros.

My WAL lives in a fishing reel bag that clips inside my bc pocket. it's padded and a perfect fit. easy to get in and out.

I use a different dock for my extra lenses, the MCD lens storr http://www.marinecamera.com/mcd_lenstorr.html It's machined aluminum that you thread your lens onto.

I've got two of these attached to my rig, so that i can dock both my stacked macros and my wide angle at the same time. I have one in the middle of a strobe arm where I keep my macro lenses. The other is on the tray for the WAL. I found I need to keep that on the bottom of my rig to be able to reasonably carry it above water, because of the weight of the lens.

So I'm assuming you have an Epoque tray (since that's what they specifically mention on their webpage? Or have you found it to work with other brands of trays? (In my own case an Ikelite... :D) Looks like a handy little device...and certainly inexpensive enough...

LOL, Alcina...necessity is the mother of invention :D I love it! It ain't fancy, but if it works, why mess with it? Heck, I may go with that, since I'm not finding another solution right now :) - although with a backzip like my Henderson 3mm, maybe my macros will be even safer :D.

If it doesn't work out well on this trip, maybe we can talk about that unused dock you have just taking up space... ;) ;)

Yes, it works with other brands. I've got a ULCS tray and arms. For the arms, the screw goes through a fat rubber washer to a wingnut, which fastens into an open space in arm. And the screws that come with these are the same size as all of the attachment holes in the tray, so I just picked a convenient location to attach it.
