Am I paranoid to consider analyzing recreational air?

Hmm, perhaps CO is really the first gas that I should concern myself with, and I'll add O2 to the mix as I get closer to adding O2 to the mix.
 
Paranoid? Sure. Absolutely valid? Yep.

If you have the means to analyze every tank you dive, by all means. I would prioritize CO over o2 if you're primarily diving air in a recreational capacity. However, it should be with the goal of working to the ability to analyze for whatever mixture you plan on diving. If that takes 3 analyzers, it's money well spent in my mind, even if it takes a bit of time and investment to get there.
