I have been diving for over 25 yrs now and my first computer was an ORCA, then Oceanic and now the Aladdin Air Z O2 hoseless computer. Before I recommend anything, I refer to my self imposed rule "If I don't use, then I don't recommend it." On 12/3, after using the Aladdin computer for about a year, I decide to push the unit to its limits. I can honestly say that the computer performed in a 5 star manner, with only two issues that I would like to see modified or changed.
#1 - Current temp display. Currently you can only see the water temp after downloading the computer to the PC.
#2 - During my testing of this computer, YES, I even sent the system in the SOS mode by intentionally blowing a deco stop. SOS Mode - Means the computer is locked up for 24 hrs.
Understanding the safety factor of the SOS Mode and far be it from me to go head to head with Scubapro, but I do feel that 24hr lock up is a little excessive.
However, beside the aforementioned items, I would recommend this computer to any of my students or experienced diving friends.
