US Airways must run a close second. I never had problems with Northwest's flight attendants, though.
The Northwest flight attendants really start looking good from Tokyo to Manila :D . I swear, some of those Filipina NWA attendants are HOT!!!

not sure if United still does it, but when I used to work in Tokyo, they were using Thai stewardesses on some of their Asian regional flights... But grandma with 50 yrs seniority would still be serving business class grrr...

Even JAL does it on some of their Hawaiian flights...

Its been..... Oh my I'm getting old.... 6 years or so now but I was flying to Asia very regular for over two years most of which was spent in economy. I would rate EVA, Cathay, and Singapore airlines as the best airlines that I have used since. Only other airline I can think of where I really liked the service might be KLM from Houston to Amsterdam.
I do remember the seats not being so great but at that time there were many flights where you had a whole row of seats to yourself, drinks were poured without question, and I really got a kick out of the passengers clapping when we landed.
Only regret that have is that I wasn't a diver at the time and only got to enjoy the topside adventures in Taiwan, Phillipines, India, HK, and Singapore.

Just wondering. If you have a choice would you fly china airlines, cathay, or Korean Air? Never flew on either one. These are the cheapest from SFO.

When are you going? For the dates I'm looking at in April, Philippines Air is cheaper, short stop direct outbound, and non-stop on the return.

The biggest annoying thing at U.S. based airline companies is their attitude, rude and cocky. I have seen some passengers escorted by an airport security at Indy airport several times. The passengers' complaints were a pretty reasonable and valid based on my viewpoint, but an airline crews didn't want to hear it from the begining. There in no customer, but only a beggars and choosers. YMWV though.

Second, as I know, there is a physical requirement to be a crew member. However, some crews even can't lift a bag in the aisle and their waist/hip size is a big enough to hit the passengers who sit at the aisle seat. I am not sure if they are really ready to help the passengers in the emergency situation.

On a kind of related topic, is anyone else having trouble with Cebu Pacific Air or Philippine Airlines' websites? For CPA their payment gateway seems to time out and PA is reeeeaaal slow and unreliable.

Ozy, it might be the lingering effects of the Taiwan earthquake. Their overseas connections might still not be routing well.

Jumping in a bit late, but I thought I would add my opinion...

I've flown Cathay Pacific and China Air. I thought they were both very nice, didn't mind either one. But If I have to layover...I would 10 times rather be in Hong Kong...that airport is awesome. Taipei is OK, not nearly as bad as Narita though.

thanks for setting me straight.

(So, why is it called China then?) Who has the oldest planes?

The official name of Taiwan is Republic of China (Not PR China), this is why a Taiwanese Aieline called China Ailines. Taiwan is only the island's name, not our country name.
