You're right. Exactly why an AED can't sync by itself. In the case of vfib it would never discharge

I was giving them too much credit. I assumed the rhythm analysis would be able to determine VT vs. VF, synch with VT & realize there was no reason (nor ability) to synch with VF. Guess they're not that smart after all.
