2 weeks in cozumel did it. Now we are addicted.

The wife and I will be buying wetsuits, drysuits, and fins at the same time. Is there an approch that can be taken to boots so that one fin will do for both suits?

Not likely ! I have always needed larger fins for my dry suit than I need for my wet suit, as well as do most people I know. However if you get a dry suit that does not have the attached boots, that is a suit that just has a dry sock attached to the suit. Then you may be able to get your foot into your wet suit booties. This would allow you to use the same pair of fins for both wet & dry. I don’t know how warm your feet will be as it is not likely that you would be able to wear much insulation in the dry suit sock and still get your foot into the wet suit bootie. Personally I like to save money too, but for me fit and function are paramount, so having two pairs of differently sized or ( correctly sized ) fins works best for me.

Dive Safe ……………Arduous

Are you buying a thin wetsuit for warm water vacation diving?

What type of drysuit will you be buying and will it have attached boots, wetsuit boots or "rock boots"?

Arduous is right in that often the same set of fins will not work for both... (however that is not always the case.)

But since fins are a very small dollar item compared to the exposure suits you are buying - perhaps fins for each are in order.

For example:
I used to use SP Jet Fins for diving with my Viking drysuit and also with a 3 mil wetsuit or swimming trunks but using wesuit booties.

Now I need to use Turtle fins with my present drysuit but the foot pocket is so large on them that I could not use them with wetsuit booties so I still have my old Jets.

My dive buddy uses a DiveRite 905 drysuit, and the boots on it work great with his Jet Fins, Twin Jet, and Blades Fins. They also all work with his wetsuit. It all depends on the boots on his drysuit. He also has another Bare drysuit that the boots are too big for any of these fins, and he has to use Turtle Fins. Just get yourself a dry suit, like the DiveRite, that has a smaller boot.
