Hello!
After shooting for some years with a Canon G1X (with Ikelite housing and in-built flash), I just acquired a Sony A65 with a Sigma 17-70 Macro lens and a BS Kinetics housing, with 2 TTL ports. I would like to purchase a double strobe set.
Of course, I would like decent quality at the lowest possible price.
With those criteria in mind, the 2 strobes that caught my attention are Sea & Sea YS-03 and YS-01. The YS-03, with its included arm and fiber optic cable, and unbeatable price, is appealing. YS-01 further setting possibilities are interesting, but purchasing arm and fiber optic cable adds an extra 150 US$, added to the extra 100 US$ of the YS-01 head compared to the YS-03 set.
From what I saw, my best options would be (1) YS-01 (allowing me to switch modes and flash intensity) with a YS-03 slave or (2) using two YS-03. Of course, I would be open to other sets as long as they stay in the same price range (ideally, below 800 US$).
I haven't seen anybody using a double YS-03. Is the TTL "automatic" intensity setting not accurate when using doubles?
Thank you very much!
