I'd say pretty much all of the above, but my favourites are:

We don't drink the air, so always make popular buddies
It's a great talking point and ice breaker, as you said smrtblndiver, people do look at you differently once you let them know your hobby, especially in my profession.
Great way for meeting guys (I blush at that one, but it did work for me, so who am I to judge)
We are also more aware of our limits so are less inclined to get ourselves into hot water, or more likely to get out if things aren't looking right.

I dove with both. There are good and bad in both genders. Why are there more men divers then women. Men don't wear makeup, just kidding.
It does not matter who I dive with just so long as they are safety minded and follow the buddy system.

It always bothers me when questions like this comes up.

WHO CARES, LETS DIVE AND HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My apologies to those of you who read this thread as a women-are-better-divers-than-men thread. I didn't intend to bash men at all. If you wanna dive with me and you're safe and reliable, you can be an alien for all I care.

I just thought I'd write about the pros of being in the minority.

Sorry, ladies, this is the first time I have looked here and was very interested in the questions and comments of this thread.
If I may put in my two cents worth:
Yes, women are/can be great divers.
Alot of women are better swimmers than men and can handle the rigors of diving better than men.
I have certified two women instructors this year. Both are top notch and are great assets to the staff.
I wish we could get some more women interested in divemaster courses at our shop.
Have a Happy New Year!

Ladies one of the top 5 has got to be that when you zip up the wet suit all the figures iimperfections vanish and all fat seems to zip up to the bust! We can all be Barbie in a wet suit!

Oh Yes! I seemed to get skinny when I put mine on......

Pink! It's a great color! It's easy to spot a diver so it's safer, in a way. We can wear it without a hard time from people, that's a bit of an advantage. We at least have the freedom to wear any color!

Pink!

I have to disagree there. I have pink gear and I take a beating over it!! It's all in good fun though and my dive buddy always knows me underwater.

I got a ribbing about it too.........

Its great when its all zipped up and tucked away.. but watch out when you unzip! LOL! Guys are all eyes all of a sudden...

I say its like trying to stuff a marshmallow into a film canister...

And yes, we have a much lower air consumption, so we don't have to carry those big ole AL80s.

Most women also slow the pace down and don't make it a competition sport. We slow down and look at the small stuff instead of trying to dive the whole ocean on one tank.
