That was what I did.

I did a deep diving with EAN26. LOL~~~

It was not for a safety reason, but for BS reason that my LDS wanted to save some money on the mix.....:06:

So back to this then it should be possible to do or combine "deep" speciality with the full nitrox if they chose EAN28 or similar (?)

We call mixes like that "Slightrox".

Oh~~ yeah... I learn one jargon today....:)

They said, "It is nitrox that anything is more than 26 %." LOL~~~~
Do I have to support that LDS? NO WAY!

I remember being told that AOW is where "you really learn to dive." I thought a lot of that was "fluff" but after completing it this weekend, I can say that it was a great course! It not only introduces you to some things (deep, night, etc) but really helps you focus on improving some skills (compass, bouyancy).
I think the main benefit is that it was a blast! I met some more great people, learned new things, and got another certification out of the deal. I would recommend it!

That's strange 'cos I've been diving Nitrox EAN21 for years... :06:

I guess it's possible, but the PADI Nitrox course only covers 32% and 36% mixes so it would take a bit of "customisation" by the school.

TeddyDiver,
Yes I'm aware of that - note the smiley (EAN26 would not be something I would use) - I wouldn't be using EAN28 on a single tank as my gas requirements would exclude 40m dives but I do know people who might but for 40m they might also be using trimix.

TeddyDiver:
There's a point to use leaner Nitrox when doing deeper dives
Bottom PO2 1,4: with EAN36 at 28m/93'; EAN32 at 33m/110'; EAN28 40m/133'

But with EAN28 at 40m you have an EAD of 36.5m - which isn't a huge difference. In fact, if you're on the RDP tables then there's no difference at all - you use 40m to plan for both. I guess a computer might give you an extra couple of minutes.
