58 diving for 35 years and have landed into the recreational photographer group with a few week a year in the coral triangle

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread. I am curious as to how many SB members, who are still active divers, are over the age of 50? Also, how long they have been diving, how often they dive, and what types of diving they do?
I take dive vacations every year.
Certified in 1979.
Mostly free dive now.

Is it wrong to encourage an 83 year old to get his OW cert?

He's still wanting to fly and carries a 2nd class medical, so who knows?

Me? I'm pushing 59.
Why not? If medically 'cleared' and able to accomplish basic OW-required tasks, that's a start. DAN is another place to go for advice. At 75, I'm still going 'relatively' strong and am hoping to dive 10 more years, or so.

Turning 60 in a few months. Diving over 45 years. Became a DM at 49 - still working as a part time DM.. Approaching 800 dives just as a DM.

Primarily doing classes for the shop (I love teaching) and occasionally working the boats.

No WalMart electric cart for me... once you stop moving... it's nearly impossible to start again..

67 and still actively diving. Got certified in 1979 during college in Florida. Last year, dove Hawaii, Cozumel and Red Sea. Going to Roatan in August. Now that I'm retired, I plan on diving more often. Cheers!

58, diving for 43 years and teaching for 22. Plan on at least another 40 or so!
