My name is Maresa. I started diving not long ago (I've wanted to give it a go for ages, only recently able to financially), only 10 dives under my belt and going for my AOW cert from PADI next week. Really keen on going night diving one day, and my favourite dive memory so far is swimming with the Grey Nurse Sharks and finding shark teeth. I also love carpet sharks (obviously!)🦈

Top of my list of places to dive next in the country is Ningaloo, WA! Any dive tips/secrets from other sydneysiders/aussies greatly appreciated. This seems like a great platform so far and keen to learn more from more advanced divers :)

Welcome! I shouldn't be the one to tell you this, but Ningaloo is in WA, not SA. Might save you some disappointment 😂

haha oops that's what I meant (done a sneaky edit to correct it)! I knew something felt wrong when I typed it out... Have you been before? I'd love to swim with the whale sharks when they migrate there.

I guessed it was a typo, but was being a d***, sorry! I've done a little diving in southern WA, but never made it to Ningaloo. It's on the list!

Have been to australia just once unfortunately, but did not do diving there. From what I read here, should be really diffeeent and good options available.

Too bad its so far away. Anyway enjoy!

Hope you can make it there one day too then! Any beginner friendly dive spots you'd recommend in nz? (I know that's really broad, maybe north island only).

It's a cliche, but head to the Poor Knights. It's arguably the best NZ has to offer, certainly in terms of subtropical scenic diving that is easily accessible.
