Hello all!

I have been reading many many stories here on ScubaBoard and have seen SO MANY acronyms. Can we build a thread of Acronyms that people can think of? I appreciate the help of de-crypting some of the stories people are writing!

Thanks! FSU JOHN

Do you mean like LDS-local dive store or PITA- pain in the *****. theres also PADI-put another dollar in. and for the finest divers there is GUE and DIR.

Just jerking your chain! ;)

There are a number of threads on exactly that topic, already in the archives. Check the control bar at the top of the page, just beneath where it says "Welcome, FSU John", third button from the right is 'Search'. click on that, then click on Advanced Search, then use keywords 'Acronyms'. I think you'll find some clarification...

Here are a few to start you off....

FWIW = for what its worth...
YMMV = your mileage may vary...
IIRC = if I recall correctly....

Welcome to ScubaBoard! Have fun.

this is kinda funny. I"m good at just ignoring whatever I don't understand (of course I'm not sure if that's good or not) so it's good to see these acronyms posted once in a while I suppose.

Any Doc, I think you're a pretty funny guy.

There are several threads like this, some with links to huge lists. You'll be able to get lots of info with a search. Actually, the board automatically searches now. Scroll dowb to the bottom of the page, you'll find links to some of them.
