DandyDon,
How do you stay so cheerful all the time?
Your probably the friendliest guy I know- on Scubaboard and off it too!!
:smileysto
Hello...? I just stumbled across this. I, uh, well...
I do think it's preferable as a approach to life, and here on SB, even more appropriate. But it's not difficult at all, really. Just drop into Introductions every day and greet a new member Intro, or several, or all of them. If you weren't in a good mood, you will be!

wonder what would happen if he lost his temper....
hmmm.....
Oh, I have a horrible temper, and it happens. A few times very badly, when I was too ill to be interacting with people. Most of those times, I went home and went to bed until I felt better, then came back to offer apologies and possible amends. But I really try to avoid it, or if I cannot - I try to avoid letting it show. Knowing that I owe to everyone involved, especially to myself, to try make amends for any wrong will encourage me to avoid the wrongs as much as I can with my stressed social skils. Now that I take my computer with me everywhere, it's more so a chance to screw up, or try to do the next right thing.
I think maybe this is why I started greetings Intros, to seek the better state of mind. It worked, so I did more, then everyone, then started looking for help to make sure everyone received a few nice greetings. Along the way, some of the Staff were wondering when I'd get tired of it and drop off, but I just found it a wonderful thing to stick with.
Being country Texan helps, too. Freindly folks, for the most part. But then, you live in a pretty freindly country yourself. I wore my J.R.Ewing hat when I toured the southern end of your fair ilse in Arpil '88, not knowing that the TV show Dallas was popular there then. Some seemed leery over the hat thing, but all were very friendly. Very much indeed.
Anyway, hope I answered your question. Glad you think of me as freindly, anyway, as that's what I prefer to project.
