After 4 cups of coffee. This has peaked my interest. Here is what I found.

Flow characteristics over a tractor-trailer model with and without vane-type vortex generator installed - ScienceDirect

^Placement of the Vortex generator proves to be important in the effectiveness of the device.

^There is a statistical study showing the drag coefficient as related to fuel savings.

^another study proving concept.

Thanks, good to review what I took a look at years ago. Great studies and results, but sure like to hear from a Fleet Manager with their road numbers. Other than we make your truck more aerodynamic. After a year of test several freightliners in real road condition we were able to gather numbers that showed our fuel savings.https://aerohance.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/results-2013-freightliner-cascadia.pdf It was not super high, but would add up to nice savings for a low investment. When you view these other energy saving devices, you can see weight issues and operation time spent opening and adjusting. Beside you need to penetrate the hull. We have a solid company and have done CFD on ships and found the same results...will have hundreds of divers world wide attaching my design to hulls and trim tabs. Again appreciate seeing this data again and will drink 4 cups of coffee a reread. Have a great Saturday.

I think you could market attachments like these to divers to put on the tank boot under the name remora.

I will say we have sold thousands of Pod kits and no returns. The savings range from 1.7 % Bus to 17% long distance Prius V 2015. But our main focus is Project: Submersible Module of Sustainable Desalination. Here you can listen in Press – CHESS+EVANS LLC

Hopefully will have my wind tunnel up and running once we find a new location. Small unit, but can model bigger ideas with CFD data.
