Word of advice, if you choose the Sinai area (Sharm / Dahab) don't do the Thistlegorm trip from Dahab as it's a very long day and you'll be leaving Dahab around 04:00 to get to the port to catch the boat and all the best spots will be gone by then.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the info.
So I'm guessing the two options really are:
A few nights each in Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab with a full day for Thistlegorm.
Or
The whole time around Marsa Alam, Elphinstone.
For those that have dived in the red sea, what would you suggest and why?
@reign180 If you decide on Marsa Shagra/RSDS, you must do a trip report because I am considering them also .Marsa Shagra and forget everything else:
Sharm is great. Elphinstone is one of the best dive sites globally, Thistlegorm very nice. I think you would be good with any of these. I would skip Dahab unless you dive the arch (tec) — the rec dives there are not as nice as the others mentionedYou guys are awesome. Thanks for all the info.
