Got it: backup.

Stephen Ash:
What you need to think about are the concepts of bullet-proofing, idiot-proofing and risk assessment.

Agreed. However, no equipment setup is bullet-proof, nor is any system. Training and experience helps cover most of the contingencies, but the ability to adapt can save my skin when all else fails.

Meng_Tze:
Oh, I see............ I don't cradle (have not had that training), I get on top of things and do my thing so to speak.

Try the tank cradle, unless they are some unnatural beast of woe, you are on top of things. They can't move.

To quote an old 80's flick

"When done right, no can defense."

Thanks, Just put the 7 foot on my kit today and want to be sure that I am not out of line before heading out to get wet this weekend. I am planning on clipping my Octo to the top righthand ring on my BCD.

The same reasons for using a 7' hose on Tech Doubles applies equally to a recreational setup. By the same logic, your backup Reg on a bungee necklace would be a good move.

Stephen Ash:
It's a concept... one of many... that is central to Hogarthian Diving.

I have a feeling I'll end up there, I just take a long time, and like to question everything.

... but enough about me; what ever has become of our fine OP? If all this hasn't scared him or her off from ever diving again, I'd like to know if he or she feels his or her question has been answered. I'd also like to know his or her gender...

Probably over in the Dork Divers forum.

Dude, take a good look at TheRedHead, then tell me honestly that you don't care at all about looking cool?:eyebrow:

Hey, I already know I am cooler:eyebrow: .
