I dove three locations last week (Alhambra; Service Club and Brohard) and the best finds were at Brohard. The silt was still covering all the beds at Alhambra and even the small teeth were hard to find. I'm sure we will have a good time wherever the event is......

Thanks for the report :)

So, I noticed Kris and I and the gang aren't added. Make it so Number 1, and the potluck dish of the day for us is Kris's infamous Apple Crumble Pie made with Fresh Michigan Apples.

OMGosh that sounds incredible. Consider yourself added dear sir. :) Michigan - are those the same as washington? ;)

Dennis - fyi - not ignoring you, just working a couple different things. :)

My mouth waters everytime I think about it. It's been what Kris has made for this event every year so far. I have been lucky to have a peice 3 out of the last 5 events!

Now, whose going to make the Fritos quiche topped with Cheetos?

OK, I'm confused. I spent most of today at Venice Beach with an event with my dive club. After it was over, I explored areas south. I must say almost everything (Caspersen looks the same) south has changed since I last visited. Sharky's parking lot is now paved and there's been construction of restrooms, a shower and a parking lot at South Brohard. I took a little time to explore. South Brohard has a large parking lot that can easily handle our group. That looks to be the only advantage it has over Service Club Park. South Brohard has one shower and restrooms that can accomodate two men and two women at a time. Beach access is very similar to Service Club, you take a long boardwalk from the parking lot to the beach. Unlike Service Club, you do have a choice as South Brohard has two long boardwalks instead of just one. There is a tiny parking lot next to South Brohard where the walk is shorter and there's no boardwalk, but if you don't like Alhambra, you won't like it as the shower and restrooms are nearly as far as the walk to the public beach from Alhambra. I'm confused because after seeing folks raving the virtues of South Brohard, I'm surprised it's not a better location than it is.

I did see a location with more showers, more restrooms and lots of parking located much closer to the beach that would seem to suit our group a great deal better (assuming parking, showers, restrooms and kayak access are the reasons for the move) than South Brohard. It's the public beach located just north of Sharky's (entry to the parking lot is through Sharky's parking lot). I did not see a sign with the name of the beach.

That's the park I suggested.
