dherbman:Have you ever been at a safety stop with a dozen or so other divers? It usually works out, but it would be much smoother if they all had some degree of mastery of the basic skills outlined in the DVD. Don't get me wrong, I do find the push offs, fin slapping, arm flailing and crashes highly amusing.
daniel f aleman:I didn't say anything about quality. Please define.

Twice, I've had gut checks ice diving. Another on a deco dive. I suppose if I did enough 60 ft reef dives I might have one there too. Then again...maybe notPerroneFord:Agreed, but hey, we're talking about recreational diving here right? Hopefully those 60ft reef dives don't get too taxing that I have "gut checks". I expect my dive on the USS Ozark to put some butterflies in my stomach!
TheRedHead:You are assuming he hasn't mastered a drifting safety stop. I checked out his profile and see that he has dived Cozumel and lived to make posts so one would think he is able to make a safety stop without clutching a line.
I think the most valuable part of the DVD was the video of the kick demonstration.
