Even the blimp is going out. That's a good sign.

As you know, I am only there in the winter, but I have been coming then for many years, and I have seen the change. It has become frustrating beyond belief to see how many planned dive days go out the window because of the wind. A few years ago, I was talking to a commercial dive boat operator about it, and he said it was not my imagination. It has gotten windier and windier of the years, and for him that meant fewer than half the dive days compared to when he started (2007), and that meant half the income. About a month after we talked, he sold his business.
For sure it isn't your imagination.
Most of the 1990's if not all, I celebrated New Years underwater, during the 2000's we started to get cancellations, by the mid 2010's we started just skip the dive planning and go directly to the eating and drinking without having all the people's gear in the house.

And that's why we're out underway to the inlet as I type, and most likely will do it again tomorrow, because there's no telling what will be the next weekend.

When are you coming back ?
