#24 and #36 cave line question

So which is your favorite?

My favorite is the Ralph Hood. It's much smoother than any other reel I've used. It's almost like it has greased ball bearings in it. I now use my Halcyon Pathfinder to lay line in passage. I can get about 500' or so of line on it.

Those Larry Greens with frame and handle incorporated are a darn good idea.

Those are originally Ralph Hood reels. They've been around for years.

I noticed that. I broke the whole axle apart, removed the derilin handle piece and replaced it all with a SS lag bolt (I think 5/8" diameter). On the head end I placed a metal washer followed by a slightly bigger OD nylon washer, the spool, another nylon washer, and a 1" nylon spacer. I screwed this assembly into the SS handle and placed a SS lock washer on the outside. I then adjusted the tension to the same on my LG/RH reel.

Good call. Not sure what that is anymore but thank goodness its not a diverite

And a quick cheap fix.

I just dropped #18 hi-viz line on it. Capacity went from 60' to 100'. If only used for lift bag deployment, until I am trained for gaps (only Cavern certified), is #18 kosher?
