Great to have everyone join us for
Megadive's 10th anniversary!

Please let Ginnie Springs know when checking in, you're with the ScubaBoard Megadive to get your 10% discount on camping and diving.

Don't forget chairs and something to contribute to the group dinner. Here's a run down of the weekend.
All are welcome for a weekend of diving and camping fun!

We have reservations for the
2014 Fallfest Megadive
Mark your calendars for
Oct. 24th - 26th

We're going to celebrate
Megadive's 10th Birthday!

Come for 1 day or the whole weekend.

All are welcome. This event is open to all dive levels, newbie OW, all the way to full cave certification. If you don't have a buddy, don't worry, there are a bunch of us and there's always someone ready for a dive! Diving is set at your own pace, when and where you want in between eating and sleeping. The only dive that is a scheduled dive will be the galaxy dive around dusk on Sat. evening. As it is a family event, there are plenty of non divers and kids too.

Ginnie Springs has a full service dive shop and a pretty nice little store.
They also rent canoes, kayaks and tubes for use on the river.
Check out their website below for further info, park maps and directions.
Florida Staycation vacation place for scuba diving & Florida ecotourism
Or give them a call at Ginnie Springs Outdoors 1-386-454-7188

When you get to Ginnie Springs, you'll need to check in the Main Office, tell them you are with the ScubaBoard group as we get a 10% discount. If you check in on Friday and won't be diving until Sat., go ahead and pay for your diving then and get your wrist bands. It can get really busy on Sat. and you don't want to waste your time waiting in line again. Sometimes we do a sunrise dive before the shop opens and you don't want to miss one of the best dives of the day!
We have the Turkey Roost area reserved. Most of us will be tent camping. Some though do stay in town at the motel, but you'll miss a lot of the fun...
There isn't electricity where we're camping, but the are several taps with running water and grills. There is electricity at the pavilion
and bathrooms w/showers are a short walk away.
Don't forget to bring chairs for around the fire and bug spray if the bugs like you.
No need to make reservations, but sign up on this thread and let us know how many are attending in your party and what you'll be bringing to pitch in for the group dinner and breakfast or if you would be willing
to help prepare and clean up for the meals.
Once a week up until the event, I'll update the food list, helpers and who's attending.
Check for the latest list for ideas on what to bring and what's still needed.
So come join us for a weekend of Fun!

Here is a rundown of the weekend...

Friday- All meals will be on your own. Some will go out to dinner; some will cook at the campsite. It's up to you.
Campfire - a little smores, a little music, a little singing, a little drinking(BYOB) or not, keeping it mild in anticipation of the big day of diving on Sat.

Saturday
-

Brekky - MegaOmlettes, group buffet style. Not to be missed...
Lunch- On your own.
Dinner - Group buffet style somewhere around 5:00. Bring something to share..
Let's keep the grill items to hamburgers, hotdogs, brats and chicken breasts.
Galaxy Dive - Around dusk. Not to be missed...
Campfire - Megadive 10th birthday celebration! A lot of music, a lot of singing, a lot of drinking(BYOB) or not. Bring a Halloween costume if you like. If your musically inclined, bring you instruments. Just lots of fun! Not to be missed...

Sunday

Hope you join us for this diving social event!
And if that doesn't convince you...

Hi fellow divers, I want to say thanks to ROXANNE for recommending our shop for fills for the mega dive. I've been working at CCDS for over a year now and I'll be happy to greet old and new faces alike. I'd like to offer Roxanne free nitrox and air for her diving during this event for her kind recommendation. I'm sure we will see many divers during this great event. If any of you come by the shop let me know you are with the mega dive. I am trying to work out future contributions for these events so I'd like to gauge activity. Any interest in rebreather demos at future events?

Safe Diving everyone!

Thanks for the kind offer. I'm sure everyone will say Hi when they stop by and I'll add it to the main post from here forward.
I think there would be a lot of interest in a rebreather demo at one of our Megadives! We'll get together and see what we can work out.

IF I can make it- Ill be coming straight from work- since im not sure what I can bring I will help out though.

For those who always ask what to bring. Here are some ideas...
Meat items for the grill
(let's keep it to Hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, and chicken breast and buns) (We're trying to keep it simple so it doesn't take forever to cook for the group) (If you have something else you were thinking about and want to cook that yourself, that's great! Some have brought friers or smokers and added to the meat items that way.)
Eggs (We never seem to have enough.)
Items for the omlettes
(additional meats, peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, salsa, wraps, cheese, etc.)
Items for Breakfast
(Juices, fruit, muffins, coffee, creamer, etc.)
Charcoal (self starting)
Condiments (cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, BBQ sauce etc.)
Aluminum Foil Serving Pans (to hold the cooked meat)
Paper towels and napkins
Heavy duty Paper Plates
(no Styrofoam please) and desert plates.
We have plenty of plastic silverware left over so that item is not needed.

Deserts (Oh please don’t forget the deserts!)
