Anyone else think that LSU can upset 'Bama this weekend?

I REALLY miss SEC football living out west. They just don't get it out here and only attend games if they have nothing better to do. They don't get dressed up, they don't wear their team jersey to the grocery store, and they don't plan their entire weekend AROUND the games.

I am afraid you have it all wrong Robin. Those of us that bleed orange and blue don't plan our weekend around the football schedule...we plan our entire LIVES around the football schedule.

1. No visits from non-football fans on gameday.(don't want the distraction. the first time my mother-in-law came over during a gator game she left in a huff b/c no one would talk to her!)

2. No Major events planned during gamedays. If I were to list the wedding dates of everyone in my family...no one got married during football season. Mine, the closest to football season, is August 23. Just enough time to get married and get the honeymoon done before football season begins.

3. We pick out jobs and our spouses according to how they fit into the sceme of SEC football. No mixed marriages in my family...all gator fans!:D

I think Lane Kiffen is a tool as you well know but I have doubt that he and his all-star coaching will field excellent teams in the future. they have played every game tough with the help of many yougsters and little depth. Just buy a muzzle please. :)

The only problem for "the mouth" I see in the future is that his daddy is eventually going to have to retire and then Lane will actually have to coach the football team himself...and it will be bad bad bad. :(

Looks like Florida is on "Cruise control" now until Dec 5th.

I would agree NOW. B4 this saturday I would not have made such a bold statement b/c I was a little worried about the usc game at columbia. But after watching their turoverfest against ut i think we will beat usc w/o any problems.

I think it is very possible. The new qb at bamma is suspect and lsu has a scary defense. if they can put a lot of pressure on him he will make some mistakes and give up some points. i think it will be a low scoring game which is also advantage: lsu.

not sure who i really want to win?? cn anyone tell me...does the winner of bama/lsu represent the west in the seccg?

.does the winner of bama/lsu represent the west in the seccg?

that won't be decided until the end of the season....

but let's just say that both teams win the remainder of their games, then that would put them both with one conference loss. (LSU lost against Florida).

So, therefore the tie-breaker between who goes would be who won the match-up between the two. so, if LSU wins against Bama, and neither looses any other games, that would send LSU to Atlanta tfor the SEC Championship.

Compare that against the SEC EAST where all teams except Florida have 3 or more conference losses LSU and Bama are the only teams that have anything ridding on their rest of their season to get to Atlanta in December.

In my Opinion, the SEC has been rather lack-luster in wins.

only 4 of the 10 teams have more than 6 wins.

2009 SEC Standings|| EAST | CONF | OVR
Florida #1 | 6-0 |8-0
South Carolina | 3-3| 6-3
Georgia| 3-3| 4-4
Tennessee| 2-3| 4-4
Kentucky |1-4 | 4-4
Vanderbilt | 0-5 | 2-7
WEST| CONF | OVR
Alabama #3| 5-0 |8-0
LSU #9| 4-1| 7-1
Auburn| 3-3| 6-3
Mississippi| 2-3 |5-3
Mississippi State| 2-3 |4-5
Arkansas |1-4 |4-4

It's an SEC game: anything can happen! If they improved their offense at all, then there is a strong likelihood that they will prevail. Personally, I would rather play Bama for the SEC title just so we can spread the humiliation around a bit! :D

BTW, is it just me or has anyone else noticed a lack of "Onespeed" in here as of late? I think his Dawgs did themselves proud this past weekend, and I mean that. They surely didn't quit or roll over and play dead! I didn't get to see the game, but if the score is any indication, they gave almost as good as they got. I think they are still suffering ire from their ill advised en masse Goal celebration from a couple of years ago. Did Meyer do the time out thing again this year?

First: Nice table! :D

Second: If you look, you will see that MOST of the losses have occurred other SEC teams. Look at SC fer instance: They won three and lost three in the SEC, yet they have won all of their non conference games. That's pretty even through out the SEC.

yeah... but I don't have the patience to do the Top 25 chart that way! :rofl3:

I'd already thought about that...

but... you've got some teams in the SEC that in the past have been much stronger powerhouses, that have under performed this year, compared to other years. For example, Tennessee, Georgia, and Auburn typically have been much stronger than they have been this year. (I guess that was the point I was trying to make).

Even watching Alabama play two weeks ago wasn't all that exciting. (it cost them the AP Top 25 spot from #1 back to #2 that week.) yeah they won... but that was about it.

Ft Lauderdale Boat Show. He got me tickets so he is tops in my book at least until I receive a dozen or more friendly barbs tossed my way again. :D
