hi,
is anyone aware of any side effect of taking daily 180mg Telfast and diving (technical and sport).

thanks,
Sasha

Howdy Sasha:

The generic name for Telfast® is fexofenadine, and it is sold in the US under the trade name Allegra®. It is marketed as a non-sedating antihistamine, usually to treat allergies. Fexofenadine is generally consider safe to use with diving if the diver does not suffer ill effects from the medication and the condition for which they are taking the medicine does not interfere with their diving, but to my knowledge fexofenadine has not been specifically researched and tested in the hyperbaric environment.

Drug names and formulations vary from country to country so you might want to check with your pharmacist to be sure that "Telfast" in Israel is indeed fexofenadine (and nothing else). You can get a lot more information on fexofenadine (actions, side effects, etc.) by clicking on the "Allegra" link below and then clicking on the "Product Information" link on that page.
