I'm usually in the northeast of the U.S.
gunna try to make this short and clear. can any reg be made oxygen compatible? for instance there is a sale this week on an oceanic reg 1st and 2nd stage that is 40% ready out of the box (this is clear to me) but lets say i wanted to throw this on a 100% sling bottle, can the reg be cleaned to accept 100%?
thanks ahead of time

Yes it shouldn't be a problem. I know a lot of tech divers using Oceanic for 100% O2. Which model is it?

I have an Alpha 8/SP5 on my sling- O2 clean through and through! :D

A couple more to look at....OMS has a "Workhorse" model that is prepped for 100%. I noticed scuba.com has them for sale for 180 right now. Probably not a good regulator for deep dives...but then for high O2 mix, it doesn't matter.

I have a couple of Mares Rebel 12 Nitrox regs, which also comes "cleaned" for 100%...I saw them recently on scubatoys.com for $200.

Both the above come with DIN first stages.

I know that all Oceanic regulators are made from materials that work well with oxygen. I wouldn't go so far as to say that ALL regulators can be safely cleaned and used for pure oxygen. It would depend on the materials used in the components.

That is exactly why the short answer is still YES!

The short answer to this question:

can any reg be made oxygen compatible?

is no.

So what happens if you use a regulator that has not been O2 cleaned with 100%?
