August 12th marked the 1 year anniversary of diving for me... at least from the date of my first open water dive for my certification. I celebrated by diving dives 130-132! The first was a scenario for the Rescue Diver class, then the other 2 were just for fun. It's amazing to see how much I've improved over the last year... I've moved from diving a jacket BC and flailing around in the water, to using a BP/W with a hogarthian harness, and having what I would think is pretty decent trim and buoyancy control, which is something I still work on every dive... I want to look like the divers I see in 5thD-X DVD I have :D I was going through my dive log calculating my SAC rates for some early dives, and many were over 1, some close to 1.1 or 1.2. Now, it seems to hover at or just below .6, and I have to watch my NDL more than my PSI. :)

Definitely the best hobby I've ever picked up... it's definitely changed my life to some extent, and I hope to be able to keep it up until I'm and old man... which will be in a few days when I turn 30 :(

;)

Congratulations! That sounds like a banner year. Were those all local dives?

Pete

Noice! 130+ dives a year is a hellova pace! :D

CONGRATS!!

That's indeed one hell of a pace...

I started in Feb and am now at about 60 dives... so I know it's quite alot... that's more or less 2 to 3 dives every week... easily to keep up in summer but in winter (shivers)

Big salute!

Congratulations -- You sound like me! And kudos from me for being interested in not only doing this, but getting good at it. Makes it so much more fun, doesn't it?

Congrats... and glad you are having fun....

Ya think...?

Congrats on your milestone! Better get in all the dives you can now... 'fore you know it, you'll be 35! ;)

Thanks :) All of the dives were local, except for 6 that I did down in the Florida Keys in January. We'll see if I keep that pace up!
