My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

To those that have asked me about diving conditions there, I have not dove Sansum Narrows but I found this info about that area http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/scubadiving/island/
I have not found any source confirming they have found the body so unless sunfm reveals where he got that info I will be sceptical.

I too am skeptical. I PM'd SunFM to find out where he got his information. He said he received the info from Terry at the LDS in Cowichan Bay. RCMP in the area are from Ladysmith.

Being "me of little faith", I am still waiting to have this info confirmed in the media. Because we all know the media never lies (sorry, a bit of early morning sarcasm). Although, I suppose in light of the G8 Summit and the horrific events that unfolded in London, England on Wednesday, the local news though no less important will take a 'back seat'.

I was skeptical of sunfm's info as well, and managed to dig up a contact at the local RCMP. I spoke to the kind sargeant on Friday night, and he informed me that they had not yet located her body, and that while he was not personally on the case, he was pretty sure that they had already called off the search.

I would hesitate to believe anything that doesn't come from a reliable source. For RCMP press releases, see http://www.rcmp-bcmedia.ca/index2.jsp, then click "news releases" followed by "recent news". The most recent (and only) information posted on this case is dated July 5.
