Several news articles refer to him as a "missing diver" but do not actually mention if someone reported anyone missing.
Body of missing diver recovered in waters off Alan Davis Beach in East Oahu
HONOLULU (Island News) -- The body of a missing diver was recovered in waters off Ala Davis Beach in East Oahu Wednesday evening, according to Honolulu Ocean Safety.
Crews with Ocean Safety, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD), and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the area around 5:40 p.m. after receiving a report about the missing diver.
First responders recovered the diver’s body about a quarter of a mile offshore. Once back on shore, rescuers attempted CPR but the diver was pronounced dead at the scene. That person has only been identified as a 50-year-old man.
Officials did not say if the diver was swimming alone or with a group at the time he went missing. It is unclear if that person is from Hawaii or is a visitor. No other details have been released.
