Last weekend there were tons of what looked liked smaller moon jellies with extra long tentacles in Pepper Park but none of us actually got stung.

I have a 13ft angler and love it. You don't need footrests but do need a seat... Go for the best one you can afford. You might have to take the seat off if you use a roof rack for transport but it really only takes 30 seconds (they usually have brass clips).

Did you ever end up going? We went off Pepper Park (n of Ft Pierce inlet) Saturday morning and viz was pretty spotty, from 3 to 10 to 15 ft. The long period swells were starting to roll in from the storm. Temps were a chilly 71°. Let's hope things get better this weekend.

I don't understand the "200-300 feet off shore" statement. That puts you in 20 ft of water at the most. The FP&L reef, at 38 fws, would require a boat. The nearest inlet is Sebastian or Ft Pierce Inlet, about 15 miles north/south respectively. Here are the coordinates, if you can figure out...

When you're in Vero, if the visibility is good and surf is flat, check out the Beaconshire wreck which is a nice shore dive. It's over 100 years old but in remarkable condition considering its location in just 15-20ft of water.

I've seen some decent viz while sailing some lakes here in Central Florida, but there's not really much depth nor anything to see at the bottom.

#3 on that list, Monster Hole, should be shore diveable and that has a 30' depth. I've been wanting to check out that spot, the only problem is that it is a major surfing spot due to the wave action so you would need a day with a flat ocean.

Has anyone that's been to Chassahowitzka River Campground describe the underwater structure? From the various media descriptions I'm having trouble finding out if there are actual caves there or just caverns. From what I've read the formations are tight enough to be limited to freediving only.
