T Bone, you think it's reasonable for a guy who's going to be diving in the Great Lakes possibly deco to keep the MK 25/s600? I do like they way they route and they breathe great. As I said before I've been in cold water and never had any issue. Am I lucky? Am I tempting fate by sticking with...
Thank you for the detailed reply. Do any serious tech divers use piston regulators? Or are diaphragm regs the standard?

All: I'm looking for straight forward advice not debate.
Background: I'm experienced diver moving into to technical diving. BM doubles. I have 3 Scubapro Regs 2, MK 25/s600 (BM) and MK 11/395 on my 40cf. I have dove many times in cold water 39-42F and have never had a 1st stage free flow. I...
All:
I'm taking the PADI Tec 40-45-50 course and hate reading things on a computer PDF. Any of you already tec divers want to sell your book?

I'm taking the PADI Tec classes and do not like reading PDF ms on computer. I'm interested in buying the book. Anyone have a copy for sale?

Michael, thanks. That's what it feels like. I can't seem to manage the bubble with doubles. Feels quite different than my Tec set up

I will ditch 40. Remind me again. Bungee get rid of this, correct. The wing came with Bungee, but I'm thinking this traps air. I can find nothing on me that would cause the lean right.

All did some shallow water work today in my doubles. Still having some buoyancy trouble. Any suggestions appreciated. Here's that info:
Double LP 95s
Dive Rite Classic XP wing
SS plate
AL 40 on left
My problem. Leaning right a lot. Can't figure out why. How can I solve?
Would my full but...
Dive doubles today. Tightened up all the straps especially waist and crotch strap. Made a hug difference. Was much more stable in the water

That's an interesting idea. I'm going to start by tightening everything up a bit. It just seems to slip back and forth too much. Swimming around not to difficult but hovering at 40-30-20-10 feet has been very challenging

Tbone can you describes some situations when you might need to quickly get out of your harness. I'm new to doubles. Curious

No video yet. Horizontal trim is a bit of problem too. We have same wing but mine is still Bungeed. Never thought of air in wing stabilizing. I will try more air in wing and less in suit. Why do they come with the bungee if everyone takes it off? What's the purpose?

The weight doesn't bother me. It's the imbalance. Floating neutral on a practice deco stop I will roll right. I can shift the tanks and then roll left. I'm thinking there's too much play in my waist and crotch strap.

The shoulders are tight especially the right one. I tilt to that side. Shifting 2 inches. LP 95s SS plate, drysuit. No extra lead.

I just took the plunge into technical diving and BM doubles. I am having trouble getting balanced. I feel like the tanks are shifting when I dive. How tight should my crotch strap be? Any suggestions to speed the learning curve would be helpful.

I ordered a Carter bag 35. The radar reflective tape seems intriguing but I am wondering if DAN has tested these. Any bend or orientation change in the smb would change its radar profile. I'm wondering how noticeable a 6 inch strip of radar reflective tape is in OW. Maybe another diver a lot...
I always have a z knife in my hand when deploying an smb. I have seen several divers send up SMBs/bags with the line wrapped around something or someone.
