Or a denim jacket and a standard issue Mullet. :)
But seriously, I've used my Oceaner drysuit (neoprene) for years and don't ever recall getting very cold, even when ice diving. I also use Sherwood Maximus regs and have had very, very few problems with free flows.
Oh, Timbits are so-called...
Congratulation on taking the first step. I second what Spectrum has suggested as it will get your muscles used to finning and you will become more comfortable in the water.
Good luck!
I was very disappointed yesterday afternoon when I noticed this product on the Oceanic site... The reason...? I just bought a Pro Plus 2.1 back in October... ;)
I may feel the need to hand it down to my girlfriend though if the reviews are good.
Finally got around to making an order and we received it in only a couple of days, and that's with email correspondence regarding size questions.
Well done Cooldives, and thanks for the cool gear!
I found that same passage last night but had a class so I couldn't post it. It pretty much encompasses my thoughts on the matter pursuant to treaties as I could not see any government enforcing their will in foreign waters without a treaty (barring war-time situations). Thanks much for posting it.
By what law are they allowed to board which ever vessel they choose?
What makes the US COAST Guard immune to the laws of sovereign nations far removed from the US coast? (Vessels in distress notwithstanding.)
(PS, not trying to start an argument here, just looking for facts as to why an...
Wait until you get a student bolt for the surface while holding his breath... That will really wake you up!
Like others have said, you're a better DM this week than you were last week. Learning happens on every dive so don't stop diving!
And most of all, congratulations on becoming a DM, it...

It sucks when your day begins with you counting the seconds until it's over... Been there myself.
Good luck to you, and thanks for all of the interesting blog posts.
Most of the nonfiction books for diving that I have are related to dive sites and aquatic life identification. I also have kept and read all of my training manuals as they are really invaluable as refreshers during the off season or should you take any length of time off of diving.
I still remember my first night dive... It was magical. Full of schools of shrimp, a huge 5' diameter sun-star, schools of bait-fish and the most intense bio-luminescence I've ever seen. And all of this a mere 50' from our hotel in Sydney, BC.
The next most memorable was when a harbour seal...
I'm glad you started this thread as I was just about to do the same when I saw yours.
One thing I would like to know is: how do the eyes respond to pressure changes post operation? I had a doctor warn me off of eye surgery several years ago for this very reason...
Cool, thanks for the info. I want to get into doing (better) video as well. I am currently using a first gen GoPro HD Hero. I have a Canon T1i that I am proficient with on land but lack a housing for UW use. I am actually a bit fearful of flooding it in reality but I saw the other day that a New...
