It doesn't, IMO. I can't imagine taking photos 1 cm away of the subject. Other people can probably comment on how the minimum focusing distance changes when zooming. Another issue is macro diopters. I have no idea, if this affects those.

I don't have a G15, but I did have a G12 and there was some discussion about whether to install the magnet or not. I (and some others) found that the magnet needs to be installed for the strobe work as intended. I did not shoot P mode, but instead had the following settings (and still do, but...

RX-100 does indeed have a bigger sensor - probably the thing that bothers me most in G12 (i.e. too small a sensor). I just feel that I want to get better pictures and G12 can't do really high ISO or good wide angle with WP-DC34. For macro, I am pretty satisfied, even though with two diopters...

Thanks for the reply. Not having interchangeable lenses is a dealbreaker for me as I do want to get good wide angle as well as good macro. Also, the smaller sensor in RX-100 is an issue for me. Any other suggestions?
