    1cm to 5cm

Look at my signature. :) G1 X with the Canon housing. I have Canon 5D Mark II for topside and am considering whether to get a housing for it or not.

    1cm to 5cm

It doesn't, IMO. I can't imagine taking photos 1 cm away of the subject. Other people can probably comment on how the minimum focusing distance changes when zooming. Another issue is macro diopters. I have no idea, if this affects those.

    Settings suggestions, G15 + Inon D2000

I don't have a G15, but I did have a G12 and there was some discussion about whether to install the magnet or not. I (and some others) found that the magnet needs to be installed for the strobe work as intended. I did not shoot P mode, but instead had the following settings (and still do, but...

    Tokina 10-17 vs. Tokina 11-16

I'm upgrading my gear from Canon G1 X to Canon 600D. Can someone tell me why (about) every diver is using Tokina 10-17 lens instead of the Tokina 11-16 which has better aperture (2.8 vs. 3.5 - 4.5)? The price of the both is about the same, so why go with 10-17? Is it because it gives 1 mm more...

Anyone? Or am I the only one using this camera..? ;)

    G1X settings

Okay, I will have to try it out. Any tips for C1 / C2 settings? On my G12, I used - C1 for "wideangle" with Tv @ 1/125, ISO 100, flash on - C2 for macro with Av @ f/8,0, ISO 80, flash on and appropriate zoom position for the diopters. On P mode I had flash off, Tv mode at 1/60 and Av at...

    G1X settings

I recently bought a Canon PowerShot G1X (and WP-DC44 housing). Can anyone recommend settings for it (for C1 and C2)? I previously had a G12 with two Dyron macro diopters. I will use them with this camera, too. Should I set the camera to macro or "normal" mode when using diopters? Any other...

    Tray problem

I recently got a new (second) strobe. Now, I am facing a small challenge: should I a) upgrade my current ULCS TR-D tray to a double tray or b) get a new i-Das tray. This would cost a maybe 20 € more, but with this option, I could move the handles to a position that I want. Also, this would be...

    Malapascua + Panglao (Balicasag)

Are there other differences between Malapascua dive ops? Size of groups? Nitrox? Limited dive times? Prize? GREAT GUIDES WITH AMAZING EYES FOR MACRO? ;) Other things? Thanks for the nice review, that was really helpful! I've sent you pm.:cool2: We talked about it and decided we'd stay on...

    Malapascua + Panglao (Balicasag)

We're (me + girlfriend, both ~30 yrs) flying to Cebu on 9 May and will depart on 20 May. We have booked accommodation on Malapascua from 10 May till 16 May. After Malapascua, we haven't booked anything else, apart from the departure flight. - can anyone recommend a dive op @ Malapascua? We're...

    OMD 60mm at Lembeh

Has anyone come across photos taken with the OM-D using a) 12-50mm with one/two diopters (Dyron 67/77 mm, for instance) b) 60mm with one/two diopters (Dyron 67/77 mm, for instance) c) other lenses being used in OM-D with diopters I'd be really interested to see them and compare to those out of...

Practicality of swapping wet lenses underwater

Do you have a picture of your setup somewhere? I have also never used a zen dome port; when using it, do you take out the port of the housing and replace it with a different port? And _then_ do you attach the glass dome or is it "not separable" with the port? I hope I have made myself clear...

Help choosing a new non-DSLR camera to replace G12

As Vondo said, I already have 2 * Inon D-2000. Something like this sounds tempting. I would have to check if, say, E-PL2, E-PL3 or E-PL5 would be "good enough" for me in terms of picture quality. I'd like to get a setup with a (single?) lens (and port) which is good enough for wide angle...

Help choosing a new non-DSLR camera to replace G12

It's is quite sad taking wideangle photos with G12 without any wideangle lens. You can capture a manta or a whale shark from a large distance, but then there's going to be so much stuff between you and the subject, that the picture will not be really great. And it's ok for a while, but now I...

Help choosing a new non-DSLR camera to replace G12

RX-100 does indeed have a bigger sensor - probably the thing that bothers me most in G12 (i.e. too small a sensor). I just feel that I want to get better pictures and G12 can't do really high ISO or good wide angle with WP-DC34. For macro, I am pretty satisfied, even though with two diopters...

Help choosing a new non-DSLR camera to replace G12

Thanks for the reply. Not having interchangeable lenses is a dealbreaker for me as I do want to get good wide angle as well as good macro. Also, the smaller sensor in RX-100 is an issue for me. Any other suggestions?

Help choosing a new non-DSLR camera to replace G12

I've been using my G12 for about 2 years now and am starting to feel like it's time to update. I'm currently using a G12 in WP-DC34 housing with ULCS arms, tray, clamps etc. and 2 * Inon-D2000 Type 4 (in sTTL, not eTTL). I also have a Divervision mount base for 67 mm macro lenses (I have Dyron...

    mabul/sipadan in december

We're also going to Mabul in December. I was interested in the price of accommodation and diving in Mabul resorts. I already have some responses to my emails. Initially, we thought about going to Borneo Divers, but the price is really high - at least for us and when compared to some other...
