Getting back under the water this summer after about 10 years and I've had a quote of £90 to bring my old Aladin Pro back to life.
It was idiot proof. Easy to read and use and was the go to computer.

I'm getting scare stories about out dated algorithms being dangerous, expensive...

Honestly?
Get insured from someone or stay out of the water. I am BSAC trained and we are insured as a matter of membership. Anyone that tries to tell you it doesn't matter is not the one going on the water with you.
No rescue skills and no insurance mean you dive with somebody else.
