    Attention Northern California Divers

Hey Wristshot, Nice to hear from you. I'm big on the "social networking website scene" so to speak and will be keeping scuba board updated. A few folks like yourself have already contacted me and expressed interest but are unable to make it to Saturdays meeting. As I mentioned, this will be...

    Cheap Ambergris Caye restaurants?

I'm headed to Ambergris on 2/18 and am staying at Ramon's Village. Breakfast is included but lunch and dinner is not. I'm looking for local hole-in-the-walls where I can have a good cheap meal and a beer, the operative word being CHEAP. Suggestions? Thanks!

    Attention Northern California Divers

How would you like a major ship to be sunk right in our own backyard that you could dive? I'd like to take a few minutes of your time to tell you about an exciting project that I'm involved in and invite you to a meeting this Saturday. I'm Bob Sommer, PADI Assistant Instructor at California...

    weighting calculation spreadsheet?

I used to have an excel spreadsheet that calculated the amount of weight you needed based on the exposure protection you were wearing, what kind of tank you were using and your weight. It calculated for both fresh and saltwater. It was on my old computer which died. Anyone have this...

    California Diving

I dive Monterey all year in a 7 mil 2-piece. The lower part is a long-john. This effectively gives 14 mm over the torso, and 7 mm over the limbs.

    Be Careful!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words. Actually the gear did survive. As they were loading my car onto a flatbed to take it away I told them thatI had a considerable amount of expensive scuba gear in it. I wanted to know when I could collect it. They said it would be available on Monday and it would...

    Be Careful!!!!!

Early Saturday morning (around 3:15AM) I was driving down CA Highway 101 on my way to Monterey to go diving for the weekend. Just north of San Jose, I was involved in a major multi-car accident. Two cars had hit each other and had stopped in their respective lanes (the left lane ( the one I...

    mantas

Unless you're diving in an aquarium you can't get a 100% iron clad guarantee. Your chances however are pretty good with everything already listed. Kona, Hawaii is a good one as well.

    What's on your Bumper?

I have a large Steal Your Face sticker (the same as my avatar) and a GratefulDiver flag sticker (dive flag but with a white lightning bolt instead of the white stripe). My license plate is GRDED and has a scuba diver frame around it. For the next week or so I also have a Matt Gonzalez For...

Like many other divers you are going to find yourself in the following situation: Do I wait for the few times a year I can travel to warm water? Or Do I dive the cold water where I live? I can't wait for those warm water trips, I need to dive so I do so in the cool waters of Northern...

    Should I help or disappear??

I had a very similar situation. Only I was the one who asked her if she'd like to try a resort course. She had taken part of the open water course, but never completed it due to bad hayfever. We had a friend who took a resort course and had a wonderful time and she saw how much pleasure...
