I do not have any training in diving at higher altitudes but if one was to dive a profile as if they were at 5,000msl even though they was at 500msl then fly at say 3,500msl wouldnt that keep the dcs risk at a safer level? Please let me know if my logic is messed up.

I am sorry you had a bad time there. I have seen it get crappy after it rains but have not noticed it being related to any part of the week. I don't think I would camp there myself. I hope you make it back out there on a day where its better.
I went into deco by about 2-3 minutes once and if I remember correctly all my computer did was beep once and said deco in the place of my remaining time. I can see how you could miss that. typically I am limited by my air and not ndl. My computer had me do a longer safety stop and that was it.
We did a few dives last Saturday at holiday lodge and at north park and it was great. Vis was 15-20 ft above 50 ft or so.I have never seen it that clear. Temp was about 70 on the surface and and in the 60s for most of our dives.
