    Hello ScubaBoard from beautiful BC

BC Rocks, I love it up there. We are actually planning a trip to the Seattle area and then take a boat to Victoria Island. Welcome

    Scubapro Seawing Nova

They do seem to have the two bands "Notched out" to keep it a one piece fin. I do no have the experience to tell you if they would crack over time. I can just tell you they are comfortable and they seem to work with my type of ankle and kick pattern. Maybe contact Scuba Pro and see if they'd let...

    Scubapro Seawing Nova

Well, I saw the humor in most of the comments. I know fins, masks, wetsuits....etc are all subjective to each individual. A debate on this matter would probably never see an end point. I say, my perfect fin is someone else's trash, who knows? My instructor can't live without them, I personally...

    Scubapro Seawing Nova

I am using these (along with the rest of the class) with boots so NO chick painted nails were used. They are very comfortable but they take twice as many kicks to get moving. I already told the shop owner that I would NOT be purchasing these fins. Yeah, they are pretty dorky!

    Scubapro Seawing Nova

I just gave them back to the Scuba Pro sales rep. They are in the middle for weight and for the length, they are average size (Like the Voltex Aqua Lung fin). The Rep told me they are being released in 3 weeks to the public. She said the price is released at $189 but I've already seen it on the...

    Scubapro Seawing Nova

A Scuba Pro Rep just gave me a pair to try out today. I will report back tomorrow and let you all know what I think about these and how they perform. I didn't know diving was also a fashion show! I don't think the aquatic life below is going to be talking smack after we leave. It's all about...

Hello all from San Diego-Newbie here

Well, I did my first self pool session today. I was able to swim laps with the snorkel only with no issues so I get used to the water on my nose and not feeling like drowning. Until I went from horizontal to the vert position and all of a sudden, I felt my chest become tight and very hard to...

    Hello from Canada

Don't get me wrong, I snorkeled only on one part of the island. I believe it it is the Southwest side of Grenada. I took an island tour and found the island smells like spices throughout. Don't forget to visit the rainforest at the top of the island. I suppose your wife can yoga anywhere...

    Hello All!

Talk to the shops around you, see if they are pushing you to join (being pushy) or see if their eyes light up when you speak the Scuba talk. Do they look you in the eyes? Are they constantly fiddling with objects while you are talking to them? Just go and feel them out, if you feel you re not...

    Hello All!

Welcome, first and foremost, I googled the differences between the 2 and found they are identical in training. I can't find out if there are any restrictions if you certify with one or the other. Are there PADI only clubs? Are there SSI only clubs? I can't find any of that info anywhere. Maybe...

    Hello from Canada

I have been snorkeling there (Flamingo Bay) twice now and the water is very warm but very green. Visibility was about 20 feet both times. I've been to LaSource and it's nice there, lots of tourist. The waters off of Bonaire and Aruba were crystal clear and warm but the islands were not much to...

Hello all from San Diego-Newbie here

Thanks dwaters. It seems most people will not admit to this fact. Even though I felt like I was once again Mortal, I never thought about giving this up. I am still as pumped up as ever to hit the waters. I did have another question, most of my diving will be in the So Cal area, would you suggest...

    New to Board, and California

Welcome I am new to this sport as well but I'm still going through certification. I have some issues with pulling the mask off while underwater, I have been swimming most of my life, so swimming is not the issue. I just had this sensation of drowning when I pulled the mask off and then couldn't...

Hello all from San Diego-Newbie here

Great things to think about, alive is good and breathing is good too. Water on the eyes are not an issue, bubbles in the nose is not an issue. We first had to swim with just a snorkel and no mask and that wasn't much of a problem except the burning of chlorine in my sinuses. From that, I believe...

    New and Needing Advice

Welcome, I have snorkeled in Bonaire about 4 weeks ago and can say the water was about 80 degrees and there was an abundant amount of sea life. The water is SUPER salty, for the heads up. I swam with a sea turtle, grouper (about 3ft in length) and coral reef squid. Warm and clear. This place was...

Hello all from San Diego-Newbie here

I am going through certification right now and went to the pool to do the diving skills. Everything was simple except the taking the mask off with the regulator in mouth. Like all the other postings regarding this, I also had the feeling of drowning, which put me through a panic. I have been a...
