So I just purchased IDeco Pro and have a few questions. How do I add helium to my backgas? The only options are for depth, time, and O2 content. I went into settings and turned on the tec diving, CCR, etc and nothing changed. Thanks for the help.
Dam good read and extremely interesting. We all all go through periods of time where we just stop caring and start taking stupid risks. It has happened to me in the past. I used mountain biking and rock climbing as an outlet for my carelessness. I had not fallen off a bike in years and went...
I was doing a dive at Lake Travis and had a similar thing occur. Vis was reduced to zero. Could barely even see a glow from my light right in front of my mask. Luckily it was open water so we just ascended a little and continued the dive.
I was taught you either wore it backwards or under your chin to signify that you are not a diver in distress. I believe one of the main signs of a frantic diver is mask on the forehead.
75 feet at Lake Travis. I have dove there many times before and it is quite easy. Had good gear and tested equipment. If I had a failure I can swim that far without taking a breath. May not be the best idea, but it is done and over with.
Based on the Navy dive tables you can dive to 150 feet for 5 min before you need deco stops. Diving down that deep for a few moments is risky, but not a decompression dive assuming you do not stay to long.
Believe it or not, I have actually looked at how much tech gear cost. I know that to get certified and equipped for trimix ten grand is a decent estimate. My biggest concern with regs is that they meet GUE standards in case I go that route. I want regs that will transfer over from rec to...
As I have posted before I want to buy gear that works for both rec and tech. Is there anything wrong with diving a BP/W for rec dives? I said I want to be trimix certified in 5 years. To me this seems very reasonable. I can't really think of a reason why it is bad to have a goal (tech...
As I have said before I am buying a computer that can do rec dives and also tech dives. I plan on moving into tech this summer. I just don't want to have to buy gear twice. I assure you I want to do some more deep NDL dives before jumping into tech. I want to be trimix certified in 5 years...
That is exactly what I thought might be the case. He seemed really knowledgeable on the phone, but I know he is in the business of selling gear. He was recommending some $1400 dollar AI computer. When I asked him about the VR3 he said not to get it. The VR3 seems like the holy grail of dive...
I am wanting a dive computer that can be used for technical dives. I am planning on starting advanced nitrox and deco procedures this summer. I was talking with my LDS today and he recommended a computer that does 3 gas blends. He also said that AI was important, but I was under the...
I am looking for a technical dive computer that can do at least 3 gas blends. What are all of ya'll diving and why. I have been looking at the Suunto "Vytec DS". Thanks for the help.
