I don't recall exactly but I think you have to gently nudge the clear plate off the back once the ring is removed. If you have an LDS that does not charge much to do, it's not a bad idea to have them do it. On the other hand, I have seen some LDS charge a ridiculous fee for the battery and...
What is the proper/best method to store the o-ring for the WP-DC 30 housing? Should it be removed and stored in a plastic bag, or leave in place and close/lock housing, or leave in place but leave housing opened so no pressure on o-ring in housing?
Thanks. That is very helpful information. A quick search showed the Canon branded weights run about $30 (+/- $2), which seems like a bit much for some pre fabbed lead. Is it easy to make your own or is it better to just suck it up and pay the $30?
What is the buoyancy characteristic of the WP-DC30 housing with the A75 in it: positive, negative or neutral? If positive, what do you do to combat that; add weight inside the housing?
What do users recommend for keeping the WP-DC30 attached to your body when diving?
I found this style wrist lanyard at my local LDS www.leisurepro.com/Prod/ItemIndex_9/CategoryID_976/Context_974/Sort_SKU/Filter_6%3d429/AQUWL.html
Would that work or is there a better approach?
This is more of a curious question. When in clear waters, how often do you find yourself using your compass? I typically dive clear waters and as a result find myself using reference points for navigation (when needed) rather than using a compass.
I have ordered the DC-WP30 underwater housing for my canon A75 and would be interested in any advice on how how to take good pics with it and any "watch out for..." advice?
Thanks
From Atomic's web page FAQ section found in the "Contact Information" link:
Does Atomic Aquatics sell an octopus?
We have two octo's available: the T2 (Titanium), and the Z1 Second Stage, both with 36" hoses and yellow front covers. They retail for $350.00 and $250.00 respectively.
That is a neat idea but merits some caution as there are many bad people out there using programs that scan the internet for emails containing credit card numbers. An email with all that information at the same time could be a bonanza for an internet thief. I would suggest coming up with your...
Thanks for the very helpful information. How do the pictures come out with the A75? Is it worth buying a housing for it or am I better off putting that money toward a dedicated underwater digital camera?
I have to agree with djanni's response. I must admit that I would expect someone who has the title "SB Staff" to have submitted more responsive and helpful responses. While I think most of the responses by others provided helpful information to the original poster, I think it's sad that a few...
They're are many good high end regs on the market to choose from and you'll want to go with what you like best. Personally, I like the Atomic B2...a lot. My wife also dives the Atomic B2 and she loves it. If money is not too much of an issue, then Atomic is a great choice. They're made very...
Thanks for the input. Any thoughts on whether it's better to have the compass on a wrist style mount, house mount or attached to a slate? The slate seems like a nice option but not sure about practical use. Thanks
I'm looking to buy a compass and have narrowed it down to an Aeris compass or Suunto SK-7? Can anyone provide some insight on what might be the better choice between the two or if I should consider others?
I've been using an Oceanic Probe for almost 2 years and still really like it a lot. Very well made and comfortable. Oceanic really makes some good gear and my bet is that this new BC from Oceanic is another good product.
