I went snorkeling there once. The animals are vicious, and there was a raccoon out in broad daylight following us. Nice enough park though. I found a golfball a few hundred feet out in the water. No dead bodies though.
 
Interestingly the papers are quiet. Its been all over TV. <shrug> Welcome to South Florida.

Police seek public's help to ID diver

Male scuba diver's body found offshore

A park ranger saw the man floating in the water and pulled him ashore. He was wearing a wetsuit but had no tank, weight belt or mask. Police think the man had been dead for at least several hours and likely drifted to the beach in a strong current, Hollywood police Capt. Tony Rode said.

There were no unattended boats or cars nearby, and police were working to identify the man.

Body of man in diving suit pulled from park waters in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD – The body of a man wearing a black wet suit was pulled from
ocean waters off John U. Lloyd State Park on Wednesday morning, police said.

The victim, described as a white man in his mid 40s, was discovered around
7 a.m. by personnel at the park, 6503 N. Ocean Drive, Detective Carlos
Negron, police spokesman, said.

Park workers pulled the body from the surf and called 911 for help, Negron
said.

There were no signs of foul play. An autopsy has been ordered to determine
time and cause of death.

Anyone with information on the victim should call the Hollywood Police
Department at 94-967-4357. The investigation continues.

Dead man found floating in John Lloyd State Park

An unidentified white male, estimated to be in his mid-40s, wearing a black wet suit was found floating in John Lloyd State Park in Hollywood.

The body was discovered floating on the ocean-side section of the park at 6503 N. Ocean Dr. by park employees at about 7:08 a.m. Wednesday, according to Hollywood police detective Carlos Negron.

The employees removed the body from the water. Negron said there are no signs of foul play.

Hollywood police are asking anyone with information to call 954-967-4357.
