In these hundreds of posts was the victim and cause of death identified? Ever?
 
And the idea of it being physically possible for a 77 year old lady to haul a tank and gear to do a shore dive by themselves seems like a stretch, or at least an alarming scenario.
A year later and Merry is still able to carry her steel tank, backplate, Jetfins, drysuit and heavy Subal housing for a cold-water beach dive in the Winter. She turns 76 in ten days.

I wonder if anyone did a diveby to confirm their reg was not in their mouth.

Reverence precludes further speculation, I would proffer.
