I'll try to bow out of this gracefullly, and avoid getting overly political, but there is a difference between "you probably should have known" and "you should just suck it up and be okay with it". I'm not okay with it at all, I just expect it and buy (or dont) accordingly.I get all the "just ignore it it's small and it's there for a reason" arguments, and I will, if I start seeing it more often. Just not yet.
Increasing tariffs and eliminating De Minimis was pitched to the american taxpayers as a strategy for making american goods more competitive in the global marketplace and also to make importers "pay their fare share", but I don't believe that and neither should you. These tariffs, regardless of how they are packaged and presented, are just a way to help prop up the lopsided trade and federal deficit without having to actually fix any core issues, increase domestic production efficiency, reduce federal spending, or increase income taxes. Don't take this as being pro or con for our current federal administration. Both sides of the aisle have the same agenda in this regard.
